You can hide the contributor name on all recipes by going to Editor Activities>Layout & Design. Click the Select Recipe Layout option. You'll see a checkbox for Show Contributor Field. Uncheck that and save.
You can also turn the automatically created Contributor page on/off by going to Editor Activities>Layout & Design. You'll see quick links under Additional Design options for Include/exclude contributor list and Include/exclude re-order form. Make sure to Save your changes.
